A SCARCE .450 BREAK-OPEN DELUXE REVOLVER, MODEL 'LEVAUX PATENT', serial no. 4563,
circa 1880, with octagonal 5 3/4in. barrel, the top-strap, breech end and hinge engraved with arabesques and foliage, dove-tailed pillar fore-sight, chequered pull-back barrel release catch with rear-sight notch, panels of floral engraving to the plain cylinder with rear ratchet locking, full disk type ejector, border and florally engraved hinged frame, ebony semi saw-handled grips carved with running vines, iron butt-cap with boss for lanyard ring (absent) and guarded double-action trigger, finish worn with some staining
